Meet the Staff

Bethany Rose

Bethany’s name means “bright city on a hill.” This is her mission in life, to illuminate the beautiful things and shine light where there was darkness. She is the editor and team manager of The Wilting Rose Project. She is passionate about finding her worth in Christ, not in her own accomplishments or in other’s opinions, and she loves spreading this message.

She writes fairytales heavily inspired by her love of the forest. She spends many of her mornings soaking in the uniquely Minnesotan beauty of the woodlands surrounding her home. Her blog, Wild Rose Journal, includes more personal documentation of her journey the last few years with Lyme disease and Toxic Mold illness and the journey of healing she is now on. Visit her Instagram to be encouraged by all the light she sees and shares.

Rebekah Black
Assistant Manager

Rebekah is a young writer and podcaster from Southern California who is a lover of all things books and Christ and has been writing and publishing articles on Christian living since the tender age of twelve. Her mission in life is to bring light to the darkness through the written word via fiction and nonfiction. She is the assistant manager of The Wilting Rose Project and hopes to inspire young ladies in their walk with Christ in a world where hope is hard to come by.

Her love for books borders on an obsession, but she regrets nothing. When she is not reading, you’ll most likely find her either playing piano or guitar, working on her next novel, baking up healthy treats for her insanely supportive family, or fangirling over her favorite band, BTS.

Bethany (Beth) Cordle
Instagram Manager

Beth is a seventeen-year-old Historical Fiction writer from the United Kingdom. She is the second oldest of ten children and is a pastor’s kid. She loves her quiet countryside life and couldn’t dream of living anywhere else.

She has been writing since the beginning of 2017, and since then has joined the Wilting Rose Project with the goal of encouraging other young women who love the Lord. She recognizes that she is not alone in her battles against the Devil and that there are many other young women out there who simply need a kind voice reassuring them of God’s love and power. She herself knows how the simple act of sharing a kind word with someone can be so spiritually uplifting. It’s her goal to be that reassuring voice saying, “Keep going- I’m here for you but, most importantly, God is here for you”

Gabriella Isaac
Contributing Writer and Instagram Assistant

A daughter of the King, Gabriella loves to share the teaching that the Lord has given her through the joys and trials of her life. The desire of her heart is to grow her love, knowledge, and maturity for Christ and the truth found in His Word.

She enjoys creating with colors, brushes, pencils, paper and textile, food and plants. She finds peace and joy in observing nature and loves to praise the Creator for the beauty she finds every day.

As a contributing writer at the Wilting Rose Project, her hope is to bless and encourage those who are hurting and discouraged by suffering and trials, pointing them to our Savior the Comforter of our souls.

Michelle Black
Submission Review

Michelle is from sunny California and loves giving hope to others and making people laugh. She loves art, photography, acting, reading lots of books, and making tasty, healthy desserts. She also loves writing stories and is finishing her first children’s book.

Her goal in writing is to make people happy and make a place where you can forget about the pain of this world and just relax and have great fun. As a contributing author for The Wilting Rose Project, she longs to encourage others to see the great love Christ has for them and their personal worth as daughters of the King.

Julia Naus
Contributing Writer and Email List Manager

Writing has been Julia’s passion for years. Ever since she was little, she has loved to create things with words. Growing up, her parents eagerly encouraged her love of words, resulting in them being stuck with a daughter who spends far too much time either writing at her computer, or with her nose in a book.

As she’s grown in life, she’s seen and experienced how God’s love can restore and give hope. She writes with the goal of shining God’s light for others and pointing them toward a greater hope. As a contributing writer for the Wilting Rose Project, she hopes to encourage other young women, reminding them of the one who gives us our worth.

Natalie Julson
Website Manager

Entranced with the world of technology since toddlerhood, Natalie has always loved all things technical. It wasn’t until her late teens did she truly fall in love with words as well. The desire to bring both worlds together started when she self-published her first book in her mid-twenties. She is now working on new story ideas and other writing-related opportunities that are brought her way as she attends school for a web-tech degree

Growing up, she’s taken a front-row seat as she’s witnessed God’s love poured out not only on her family, but on others as well, and seen the joy, hope, and courage that prevails in what looks like a wilted situation, full of hopelessness and doubt. As the Website Manager, she hopes that even though she won’t be writing often, her backstage presence would still point others to the One who can truly heal our brokenness.

Emily Bianchini
Contributing Writer and Editor

Emily Bianchini is a church kid. Her passion is writing to other church kids about owning their faith as a young person and living intentionally.  Emily is a contributing writer and editor for The Wilting Rose Project, where she shares about God’s love and grace with others.

When she’s not writing, she loves spending time in creation—she likes hiking, but she dislikes trails and prefers to blaze her own.

Eliana Duran
Post Publisher and Editor

Eliana Duran is a homeschooled high schooler with a love for Jesus and words, in that order. She is passionate about using her gift for the glory of God, and helps out The Wilted Rose Project Team as a post publisher and editor. Eliana seeks to lift God higher with how she lives her life—whether she’s writing about what He’s been teaching her through His Word, or making up worlds in her head and hopeful stories to go with them.

Besides writing, you can often catch her doodling or reading. She is also the proud big sister of ten (and counting!). You can keep up with her at Eliana the Writer or by joining her semi-weekly newsletter.

Evangelyn Hill
Contributing Writer, Editor, and Scheduler

Evangelyn is a fifteen-year-old homeschooled bookworm (or, more accurately, bookdragon) who loves to write. Her goal is to spread God’s love and hope through her stories and articles. She’s written four middle-grade novels and is in the middle of two more.

Besides writing, she loves spending time outside (she holds tight to the philosophy that you’re never too old to climb trees), with her family, doing archery, sewing, and listening to the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack. Oh, and don’t forget spending hours curled up in a rocking chair with The Chronicles of Narnia, The Tale of Despereaux, or one of her myriad other favorite books.

Malaya Gaboury
Contributing Writer and Editor

Malaya Gaboury is a native New Yorker who loves Jesus, coffee, books, and theater. She’s had a passion for storytelling since she could talk, and when she’s not writing, you can find her singing show tunes with her dad and sister, food hunting in the city with her friends, or curled up on the couch with a long novel.

Malaya firmly believes that God is actively working in her generation. When she was 11, Malaya discovered that no one is too young to have a big life with God. Since then, she’s been passionate about living out her faith as a teenager and hopes to use her story and words to inspire others to receive the radically abundant life that God offers. Connect with Malaya through her blog

Tara Savanna

Tara Savanna is an editor on The Wilting Rose Project Team and has been a lover of words and all things art-related since childhood. Now in her mid-30s and unmarried, while living her dream of homemaking in her parent’s house, she strives to serve God in any way she can. This has often led her down new paths she would not have considered otherwise. She loves learning new things—be it a craft, hobby, foreign language, or researching new ideas. You can often find her with several tabs open in her browser while she gathers interesting facts on any given topic, sometimes leading her down rabbit trails to things not on her list.

When she’s not writing, crafting, drawing, or playing a musical instrument, she can be found curled up with a good book and her adorable little dog, Cloe. You can connect with her on Instagram or her blog

Julia Skinner
Instagram Manager, Contributing Writer, and Editor

Julia Skinner is an eighteen-year-old writer, blogger, and ice cream enthusiast. When she’s not working on one of her (many) Sci-Fi Fantasy novels, she can be found playing video games, happy-ranting about one of Brandon Sanderson’s books, or wondering just how many germs are on the door handle. But most importantly, she’s a sinner saved by grace, and her life goal is to bring glory to her Savior, Jesus Christ. If any good comes from her journey, it’s because of Him.
Jen Rose
Contributing Writer, Head Post Publisher, Email Manager, Proofreader, Editor

Jenavieve Rose loves helping in any way she can, be it as a Contributing Writer, Head Post Publisher, Email Manager, or sometimes Editor. She joined The Wilting Rose Project in the hopes that, through the Project, God would use her to bless other young women and show them that a rose, although wilted, can be just as beautiful.

She’s had a highly-active imagination her whole life with a love for stories to go with it. Creating her own story-worlds through Fantasy, or any other branch of Speculative Fiction, makes her feel closest to her Creator. She’s inspired by a myriad of different books, movies, and even video games, but especially fairy tales. She writes stories where good overcomes evil and hope shines all the brighter through the darkness, for those are the stories that mean something, the ones that really matter.

When she’s not writing, she loves crafting, reading, baking delicious treats, and partaking in her numerous fandom obsessions with her siblings.

She loves to create organized spaces, to keep things running on time, and to make sure everyone is in the loop. She enjoys helping others in any way she can, even if it’s just a virtual hug. She finds joy in praising the Lord through music, learning the Hebrew language, and furthering her knowledge of herbal remedies. Jaybird Summers
Contributing Writer, Content Editor Trainee, Post Publisher, Instagram Post Manager
Greetings! I am a 17 year old high-school graduate who is also a librocubicularist ( someone
who reads in bed). One of my favorite things to do is write. Well, that and curl up by a
window on a rainy day reading a book. But hey, who doesn’t want to do that? I am
passionate about God’s word and try to include it in my day-to-day life, whether it’s
listening to music or giving a friend some advice, I try to let His words guide me. Writing
helps me to process through emotions and getting my thoughts onto a piece of paper
has always made me feel better. Even when it looks like a pencil shavings tornado
attacked the sheet.
Cat Thompson
Graphic Designer, Content Writer

From a young age, Cat Thompson has always been interested in writing and building good friendships. Over the years, she has walked through an international move, amazing friendships and difficult ones, and most recently a chronic illness, pain, and struggles. She has always been encouraged by honest and hopeful words. She hopes that her writing will encourage fellow young women or chronic illness warriors that they are not alone in their struggles. Her aim is to bring hope and light into the dark and show that God is present and healing is possible.

She lives in New England, but much prefers the warm weather and Pacific feel of her younger childhood. She enjoys writing both nonfiction and heartfelt fiction stories. She loves making new friends, learning about people, and eating fried foods and chocolate. She is a lover of chai tea and hot chocolate, and will drink hot drinks in both summer and winter, and will eat any snack that she can get her hands on. When not writing, you’ll find her chatting with friends, spending time outside, reading any good Christian fiction or fantasy book, discovering more good books, or trying to convince people that hot drinks in summer are still just as good.
